Navigating into Portland Marina
For recreational craft, you should enter through the Portland Harbour North Ship channel. Once through the harbour entrance, follow the fairway markers south-west toward the safe water mark in the inner harbour, then turn south to the marina entrance.
Stay in the marked channel and watch for commercial traffic — Portland Harbour is a busy mixed-use harbour.
The marina entrance is through the north side of the marina breakwater. Do not attempt to enter through the shallow gap to the south — it does not lead into the marina berths. Reduce speed to the harbour limit (6 knots as marked by yellow buoys off the marina).
As you pass the outer moorings and reach the marina breakwater, call VHF Ch. 80 or and follow any signals from the marina staff for berth guidance.
