Brighton Marina Sea Safety Day
Add this to my calendar
Premier Marinas in collaboration with safety experts, Seago Yachting and onsite tenants Nickys Chandlery, will be holding a Sea Safety Day at Brighton Marina on Saturday 4th June from 10am to 3pm. It will be a chance for boat owners to bring along out of date flares, have them checked and disposed of safely.
The first three flares will be free of charge for Premier berth holders – additional flares charged at £2.00. Visitors will also be charged £2.00 per flare disposal. The chandlery will pay £1.00 towards the flare disposal fee when berth holders* buy a new flare from the chandlery. All profits will be donated to the RNLI.
There will also be the opportunity to have your lifejacket checked and meet the local RNLI Water Safety team, as well as speak to Brighton Boating (Lagoon Watersports) about any training requirements. Plus the In Our Element rowing team (which includes Marina Manager Mike Hatch) will also be at the event, showcasing their Ocean Rowing boat, as well as doing their own safety research ahead of undertaking the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Rowing challenge in December.
The event will be held inside Nickys Chandlery who will have their doors open to purchase new flares alongside special on the day discounts available on other lifesaving equipment, as well as international paint brands, Kingfisher ropes and fenders. Moreover, berth holders and visitors can park right outside the chandlery for one hour for free.
An event to showcase the variety of businesses at Brighton Marina, early attendance is advisable as Seago Yachting can only carry a finite number of flares.
From 10am – 11am will be a reserved time slot for Premier berth holders to come down and engage in the activities.
For further information on the event or for those who intend to dispose of a large number of flares please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
*Berth holders eligible for the saving on flares on production of their boat name and key fob.
