The friendly team at East Cowes offer a wide range of expertise and experience. Meet a few of the faces ready to help you to make the most of your time on the water.
Mike Townshend
Marina Manager
Mike has been the marina manager at East Cowes since 2001, spending the last quarter-century sailing from Cowes and raising his family. He is exceptionally experienced having entered the Round the Island Race multiple times. In the past he has managed Weymouth Marina, ad well as working in the yacht charter industry in the Mediterranean and Caribbean.
Jess Olden
Duty Manager
Jess has worked at East Cowes Marina since 2013, starting as a summer berthing assistant and quickly progressing to Assistant Manager. A keen yacht racing crew member and RYA Yachtmaster, she has competed in many offshore races: Round the Island, Cowes Week and Fastnet. You may see Jess around the marina on her days off, as her own Contessa 32 is berthed here, away from the water, she is a keen cyclist and very swift runner.
Kevin Richardson
Marina Operative
Kevin is the man who’s been keeping the marina ship-shape since 2011. Looking after the pontoons and ensuring the marina is in a good state of repair, he undertakes preventative and scheduled maintenance as well as overseeing the Health and Safety system. Away from work Kevin is prepping his classic rally Mini for the next motorsport event.
Hazel Wilson
Senior Marina Operative
Hazel joined the marina in 2022 from Bembridge Sailing Club, bringing with her a whole wealth of marine knowledge. Initially working in the Mediterranean and on private yachts, then with the RYA and UKSA here in Cowes, Hazel now organises our visitor berthing, amongst other duties, and deals with the ever-changing needs and requests from across our broad customer base with great patience and understanding.
