A Gin And Curry Pairing Hits The Spot!
On Saturday 15th December, Southsea berth holders got together at the marina’s onsite restaurants to experience the unique combination of a curry and gin tasting lunch!
A currymas social with the option of two styles of lunch – an all you can eat Indian buffet at Bombay Bar or a traditional three course Christmas lunch with all the trimmings at the Marina Bar. The majority went for curry which included a mixed platter of starters, four main dishes and rice and naan bread. Plus, everyone who attended enjoyed a champagne reception, followed by gin tasting before the festive feasting commenced at each restaurant.
Now in its second year, the Southsea team sees this flavour combination of gin and curry becoming the new Christmas tradition. Rupert Bremer, Marina Manager at Southsea Marina who sadly had to stay in the background to the festivities but did pop his head in said: “We are delighted with the success of our annual currymas event. This year it was elevated with the presence of Ben from HMS Spirits hosting a free gin tasting session, plus, having the two options for lunch is always a winner! Thank you to everyone who attended and for those who couldn’t make it, we wish you a relaxing Christmas with friends and family".
