Swanwick Floating Marina Phase II Update
The work on phase II of the floating marina at Swanwick Marina is progressing extremely well with the dredging work completed at E pontoon area and the majority of the new pontoon now fitted including the main walkway, the majority of the finger pontoons, access ramp and link to the main bridgehead.
The dredging area was completed and signed off by the independent surveyor who comes in and checks that the correct amount of silt has been dredged at the marina, in this instance up to 2m below chart datum. Once passed by the surveyor, Walcon Marine were then able to begin the installation of the pontoons and piles, installing the majority of the main walkway within two days of starting work.
Work on installing power and other services to the pontoons is also underway, with December set to see boats moved from the existing F pontoon across to the new E pontoon. Once F pontoon is clear, work will then begin to dismantle F pontoon in preparation for ML Dredging to return to dredge the remaining area.
Once dredged, Walcon Marine will then proceed to build F and G pontoons in the New Year with work scheduled to complete by the start of next season. Space on the new pontoons is available for seasonal or annual berth holders, and Premier would like to remind customers of the refer a friend discount which will see up to £500 credit added to your account with your friend able to save up to £500 on their first year’s berthing. This is available for as many friends as you choose, subject to availability.
